Lebron James is on a path to build the biggest sports brand since Mr. Airness himself Michael Jordan and he is taking his friends along for the journey. Many thought Lebron was making a huge mistake when he fired his agent Aaron Goodwin in 2005 hired his homies to help build his brand. Although Goodwin locked Lebron in with a $90 million endorsement deal with Nike King James still saw it fit to keep it all in the family and LRMR Marketing Company was born. LRMR is an acronym which consists of the first letters in the names of Lebron and his three childhood homies Richard Paul, Maverick Carter, and Randy Mims; Lebron, Richard, Maverick, and Randy (LRMR).
These young guys are creating a Marketing juggernaut as they secure endorsements with the likes of Nike, Sprite, Glacéau, Bubblicious, and Upper Deck.Despite the lack of experience that Lebron’s homies may have had in the beginning stages back in 2005 they made up for it with focus and determination. Four years and several multi million dollar deals later these young boys are serious business. In an interview with Esquire magazine Lebron explains why he decided to keep it all in the family. “I thought if I stopped playing basketball right now, what would my friends have to look back on? They wouldn’t have anything to look back on for me to grow as a businessman, and for me to become a man, I decided I’ve got to start working with guys I can trust — my friends. Now I don’t need to be there for them to get into places, high-prestige places, or to have a business meeting with somebody. Lebron doesn’t have to be there.” This guy really has his business together on and off the court below is a sample video of what make James the heir to the throne check it out.
