Leonardo DiCaprio is the type of celebrity that retracts himself from the lime light unless he’s promoting a new film, so its always great to find out whats new in his world when he’s on his promo runs. He is currently promoting his new film the Great Gatsby (in theaters on May 10th) and getting personal in his interviews revealing whats next for him.

In an interview with extraTV Leo discussed taking a break from acting for a bit, turning 40 soon and the possibilities of getting married:

Taking a Break: “To me, right now it’s about getting a little breather – getting some time off. Not a permanent break or not an indefinite period, but you know, just a few months off to do some other things.”

Turning 40: Its “right around the corner” and he’s “feeling great” about it.

Getting Married: “I take it as it comes. We’ll see what happens in the future. I don’t try to determine what the future will be, I take it day by day.”

Yahoo Sports: Entertainment mogul and rapper Jay-Z has started the process of divesting his small share of ownership with the Brooklyn Nets to extend his Roc Nation Sports representation business into basketball, sources told Yahoo! Sports. Selling his share of the Nets is a necessary prelude for Jay-Z to obtain his National Basketball Players Association certification as an agent.

For those who are wondering why would he want to be an agent when he has ownership in the Net, the move would seem to be backwards. Thing is Jay Z is said to have owned a .015% of the Brooklyn Nets which has a value of over $350,000, it makes a lot of since for him to divest and represent athletes.

Jay Z is on a mission for 2013, it doesn’t seem like he’s too comfortable sitting at #2 of Forbes Hip Hop Cash Kings list. With a net-worth of $475 million Jay has some ground to cover to surpass Diddy who’s net-worth is at $580 million. Last week he made a power play announcing that Roc Nation signed Robinson Cano to its newly developed sports agency division and today the Wall Street Journal announced that Jay signed a label deal with Universal Music Group.

Universal Music Group said Monday it had inked a multiyear deal with rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter to house his music label Roc Nation, snagging the coveted rights to release Mr. Carter’s next album along with the forthcoming records of other top-selling artists including Rihanna and Shakira. Mr. Carter said the deal allowed his five-year-old Roc Nation to “continue to operate as an independent label with the strength, power and reach of the best major.” Universal didn’t disclose the financial terms of the deal.

Jay Z is really taking things to another level in business and strategically building his company Roc Nation Co. into a force in all areas of entertainment. He’s casted a wide net in the entertainment business from managing writers, producers, artist, engineers, concert promotions, film development and now that they have officially launched their sports agency division they have even more reach. Today it was announced that Yankee’s all star Robinson Cano has left his agent Scott Boras (the biggest agent in baseball) to sign with the Roc Nation Sports Agency. This news has rocked the sports world and Boras bottom line profits for the upcoming year. Its an pretty amazing feat for Roc Nation to land a client of Cono’s stature for their first client, I’m floored they were able to pull this off.

NY Times: In an announcement Tuesday, the new agency, Roc Nation, which is affiliated with Creative Artists Agency Sports, said it had signed Cano as its centerpiece and first client.

The announcement included a statement attributed to Cano.

“At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors both on and off the field,” it read. “I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and C.A.A. Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates.”

They were chatting for ages about the origins of tobacco and all the different types and then Jay-Z offered to have him on board for the tour dates. It goes well with the nature of the tour where there’s going to be a lot of whiskey and cigars.” an unnamed source told The Sun.
